Empty property rates relief for landlords

Mama Na Mtoto open new charity shop in Keighley.

Hammond Associates has helped a recently formed charity, established to provide support for pregnant women in Africa, get off the ground by sourcing and negotiating the free use of an empty shop unit in the Airedale shopping centre in Keighley.

This is part of Hammonds work to utilise the growing number of empty commercial premises across the country for charitable use.

The scheme is a winner all round, giving newly established charities like Mama Na Mtoto the chance to get established and eventually become full rent paying tenants, it brings life to empty units, bringing additional footfall which in turn helps other traders in the centre, at the same time helping the owners mitigate some of their void costs associated with empty business premises.
