Blank Canvas in Stonebow House

City Centre landmark building, Stonebow House, purchased earlier this year by Wetherby based property company, Oakgate Group for redevelopment has been put to good use, by the Skippko Arts Team’s Blank Canvas project, whilst plans are prepared.

The deal brokered by Hammond Associates as part of their temporary property use scheme was very straight forward due to previous collaborations with Oakgate, themselves keen supporters of the Arts.

Blank Canvas held an open day and invited artists in the area to visit and work from the one of the floors in the building.  They were amazed at the response and now have all the floors in use.

Floor 1 –  81 Zombie; special effects makeup. Gobbledegook Theatre, 6 Lips theatre, Sore Thumbs costumes and performance area.

Floor 2 –  Art Barges; illustrators, designers, painters, textiles, ceramics, photography and more….

Floor 3   Plastic Fortunes Films

Floor 4  St John’s Art College
